The Nokia N86 gets a Firmware update to version 30.009

Thanks to AAS, we’ve gotten to know that the Nokia N86 has gotten a firmware update, to v30.009. Its previous Firmware was v21.006.

The N86 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.

Remember you can update using the N86’s OTA (Over-The-Air) feature, or if you prefer you can download Nokia’s Software Updater application to update your N86 on your windows PC.

(Note: Currently the firmware is only available via NSU)

Update: The v30 firmware is now available both via NSU and OTA.

If there’s no new firmware detected for your device yet, it might be because it hasnt reached your region product code yet, or maybe your device is carrier branded. It should roll out to all product codes eventually though.

There’s so official changelog yet but apparently v30 is being described as a ‘Maintenance’ update:

  • includes the latest Ovi Maps (with free navigation)
  • includes the sharing of location via Facebook
  • Nokia Messaging improvements

Have you updated your N86 yet ? Notice anything new ? Do let us know in the comments y’all.
