The Nokia N900 Firmware PR 1.1.1 (3.2010.02-8) has reportedly begun rolling out to devices today. It’s previous software version was PR1.1 (2.2009.51-1).

There’s no official changelog yet, but firmware updates usually contain a couple bug fixes and speed improvements. So far there are reports that this update adds in more regions to the N900′s list though.
Update: So far the changelog is :
Key changes and improvements:
- OpenGL ES 1.1 API libraries added
- Support for OVI Store paid content distribution
- Support for almost new 40 new countries
- WLAN bugs mostly fixed
- Set of browser related error´s fixes
Be patient if you can’t see an update yet, as it will come to your time zone at some point in the next few days as it will roll out region by region.
This update can be installed over the air by users with the PR1.1 (2.2009.51-1) firmware already installed. To install the new firmware on your device using Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA), launch the Application Manager and select “update”. You might want to use a WLAN/Wifi connection and avoid doing this over GPRS/3G if you’re on a limited DataPlan, since the FOTA update is about 16.2 MB.
An update via OTA usually retains all your data and settings, but just incase it’s always advisable to make a backup of your data, just incase.
You could also use Nokia Software Updater. Make sure your N900 has a Sim Card inserted and is on the “General” profile. I havent done this on the N900 yet though, so I’m not entirely sure if an update via NSU retains all your data, or wipes it out.
You might want to uninstall any apps from, or disable the extras-devel first, too.
If you have an N900 and noticed anything do with this firmware update, or anything we missed, do let us know in the comments below !
