This bit of news is actually quite a bit old. But I just discovered it today, so here it is !
There’s quite a bit of talk over at the Maemo.org forums on how to Change your Bootup video on the N900. Christopher Stobbs from NomadsNirvana has put together a great tutorial on how to do it.
It takes a bit of moving files around, but it’s very do-able. Atleast, do-able enough for me to try it out.
I managed to get my Startup to look just like the video below :

Also worth mentioning, a user called “Claesba” has started discussions on creating an application to help make this process easier and code free, so if you prefer to do it that way, just wait it out.
