Thanks to DailyMobile, we’ve come to know that the Nokia E72 has gotten a firmware update to version 22.007 today.
The E72 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.
Remember you can update using the E72’s OTA (Over-The-Air) feature, or if you prefer you can download Nokia’s Software Updater application to update your E72 on your windows PC.
If there’s no new firmware detected for your device yet, it might be because it hasnt reached your region product code yet, or maybe your device is carrier branded. It should roll out to all product codes eventually though.
I couldnt really find much new in this update, but apparently there are various speed tweaks and bug fixes under the hood. No confirmed changelog yet, but we’ll update this post if we find one.

i guess this phone is just a trash, its very very slow. Not at all wroth it.
why isnt this update available for the phones in india?

I meant to say, DON'T STOP THE UPDATER WHILST YOUR PHONE IS DISCONNECTED!!! Just disconnect your phone after clicking try again following the first fail, battery out and in again, then plug the USB back in. It sorted mine anyway.
I had that issue too. Just click try again, leave the NSU running, leave it for 2 minutes, THEN disconnect your phone, take out and replace the battery, turn it back on again and plug it back into the computer. To be honest, this update isn't worth it. The predictive text is still crap compared to that of the E71, the camera still hangs after taking a picture, and many text boxes fail to load properly making replying on many forums impossible. Everything that worked so well on the E71, they broke with the E72.

Hi Ayham,I have the same problem with my E72. There seems to be no real answer to fix this problem. I have tried everything under the sun to see what works. Nothing works. Even Nokia care could not do the resintall on my E72. I have posted a number of time on Nokia forums...no real answers there as well. May be over the air upgrade is the answer.You can try...
Heya Ayham ! Congrats on the E72 :D Hmmm Is your Internet Connection stable enough ? Could you try it on a different PC maybe ? And more importantly, are you on the latest version of Nokia Software updater ?
Hi CJ,Hope you're doing fine, I ordered a Nokia E72 from handtec.co.uk and finally got it :)Regarding the update, after the new version is downloaded (182MB) a message appears on the Nokia Updater saying that connection is lost with phone and recovery steps listed. Not available for India yet "Your software is already up to date"! I guess we'll have to wait. Hopefully it'll get pushed to India before the 3g auction :P
