Wikipedia can be a great source of info (it’s an online Encyclopedia after all). Unfortunately, the Wikipedia website never actually worked that great on Symbian devices.
Until now !
Earlier today, the Symbian Foundation clued us into the fact that there’s an alpha version of a Wikipedia widget available, that should make navigating Wikipedia much easier on your Symbian Device.
You have a simple search field where you can search for Full Text or Entry Titles.
A search for Nokia showed up a list of all Nokia-related entries, all properly formatted to fit your device’s screen.
The ‘Nokia’ entry had basically the same content in text and pictures as the desktop version.
If you have an N97 or N97 Mini, you’ll also find that the app has a Wikipedia Homescreen Widget that allows you easier access to the app.
Here’s a short video overview of the Wikipedia App on Symbian :
You can download the application here, but remember y’all, it’s an early alpha version so there might be a couple bugs. It’s still basically a Wikipedia Reader application, so you cant edit any articles or sign in yet.
