Over the weekend, Nokia’s Email Service application, Nokia Messaging, got an update to version 9.6.12. You can download the update over at Email.Nokia.com.
We couldnt for the life of us, get the update to work on our N97, but luckily Ricky from Symbian-Guru did. Apparently the update brings HTML Support in S60V5 Touch devices (like the 5800,N97, etc), and you can now set HTML-view to on by default, or stick to the default “Manual”. There’s also an update to the synchronization frequency settings, and better touch support. You can read more about the update over on Ricky’s Post on Symbian-Guru.
For non-touch S60v3 devices, the update brings improvements in HTML support, and you can now view embedded content in emails (Eg: A youtube clip, flash content, etc).
Also, its apparently called “Nokia Messaging Email” now. Ah the name-changing, it continues !
I think you are doing setup with built-in S60 email client, not Nokia Messaging. In Nokia Messaging you can have max. 1 Months messages. Please check again if you are doing setup using application at email.nokia.com.Also even if you are using built-in client, you can set in Gmail->setttings->POP/IMAP , which messages you want to retrieve. whether all or messages whicha arrive now onwards.
for the life of me I can't get this moronic application to work with my gmail account. As much as I set it up as per Gmail's site, Nokia Messaging downloads like 480 old messages from like 5 months ago. I can't get it to download the new stuff. WTF!@!@!@
