Ovi Store by Nokia brings consumers in the region access to apps, videos, games and more

Mexico, DF; Stuttgart, Germany – América Móvil and Nokia announced today a partnership to bring Ovi Store by Nokia, an evolving media service that consolidates Nokia’s existing content services into a one-stop-shop for content, to mobile customers in Latin America. In an innovative effort to extend mobile device and technology choices to more users in the region, America Móvil customers will be able to download and purchase apps, videos, ringtones or games from Ovi Store in a seamless and easy way.

The Ovi Store service will be available to América Móvil customers in Latin America later this year through Nokia’s flagship device, the Nokia N97 and by accessing the store directly at store.ovi.com. Specific markets, additional devices, languages and features will be announced over the course of the year.

América Móvil is the first operator in the region to announce the roll-out of a Latin America-wide offering of the Ovi Store to its customers.

At Nokia World, Marco Quatorze, Head of Value Added Services, América Móvil said: “América Móvil looks forward to introducing Ovi Store by Nokia to our consumers in Latin America. As the leading provider of wireless services in the region, we aim to bring the most advanced services to our consumers and by offering Ovi Store we are bringing innovation to the way our consumers discover and experience digital content on their mobile devices.”

Ovi Store by Nokia is available globally to an estimated 50 million Nokia device owners and is accessible from 100 Nokia devices. In available markets, customers can visit store.ovi.com through their Nokia device browser to immediately begin downloading, personalizing and making their devices smarter and more fun with applications, games, videos, podcasts, productivity tools, web and location-based services and much more. For new compatible devices, it will only be required to select the Ovi Store icon in the Download! Folder to start choosing content.

“We are excited to announce the Ovi Store service together with América Móvil,” said Blanca Juti, Nokia Vice President for the América Móvil Account. “This collaboration is an example of Nokia’s and America Movil’s joint commitment to offer consumers in Latin America the widest choice of mobile content and the customized mobile experience that fits their lifestyle”.

The agreement is part of a partnership between América Móvil and Nokia in the area of services to help meet the growing demand for mobile data services in the region. To date, this partnership has made available to America Movil consumers a broad range of services such as Nokia Messaging, Nokia Comes with Music, and Nokia Maps.

Ovi Store is an evolving media service that consolidates Nokia’s existing content services into a one-stop-shop for content. Thousands of the content industry’s biggest names along with independent application developers are distributing their media, applications and games through Ovi Store.
