Ovi Maps Beta for S60 5th Edition gets Updated; New Services & Content

   

 

Ovi Maps for S60 V5 Touch Devices (like the Nokia 5800, Nokia N97, etc) just got a slightly major update.

The first new change is that the new starting screen giving you “one touch access to a variety of new content and services“.

The built in Car Navigation “Drive” now comes with text-to-speech feature for voice guidance including street names during navigation. The Pedestrian “Walk” navigation now has voice guidance with voice instructions including street names during navigation. Sweet !

There’s also now real-time Weather information including a 5 day forecast for your current location or the one you go next.

You can also check out “Events” for movies, concerts and venues around your location or other places you have found with the help of the Find places functionality.

And for Travelers, there’s now premium editorial travel content by Lonely Planet and Michelin for over 1000 destinations.
