Nokia N96 gets a Firmware update to v30.033

Just after the N97‘s firmware update today, AllAboutSymbian is reporting that the Nokia N96 has gotten a firmware update today too, to version 30.033. Its previous firmware was v20.050.

Nokia N96 firmware update

The N96 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.

Remember you can update using the N96’s OTA (Over-The-Air) feature, or if you prefer you can download Nokia’s Software Updater application to update your N96 on your windows PC.

If there’s no new firmware detected for your device yet, it might be because it hasnt reached your region product code yet, or maybe your device is carrier branded. It should roll out to all product codes eventually though.

There’s no official changelog yet, but we’ll update this post as soon as we find one. Apparently this update contains a couple bug fixes and speed improvements though.

Have you updated your N96 yet ? Notice anything new ? Do let us know in the comments y’all.

Vodafone are rubbish for firmware, mine is still at v11 with no update available either over the air or through my pc. My previous n96 (i had a replacement due to fault) had v12 on it but this new one must have a different product code. Think i may have to give in and change the product code of my phone

This update must've been pulled. It's not available anymore :-(

N96, I don't know why some N96 users feel dissapointed, my phone works very well, though a bit slower than my old N80 it's still allot faster and more reliable than some other new phones on the market. I use the internet, play games, watch movies, take good quality pictures and videos and I use the GPS on a daily basis and everything performs perfectly. My only issue was that the N96 doesn't remember the Voice Mailbox Number??? After the v30.033 update the phone is allot faster than before and now it remembers my Voice Mailbox Number, so no complaints...

i just updated the n96.the only thing updated is the dvb-h software.the navi wheel in settings is also missing.everything else is the same
