Nokia Messaging “IM” beta launched (for E75 devices)
Just a few minutes ago, Nokia Betalabs introduced the new Nokia Messaging – E75 IM beta application. This is basically Nokia Messaging, the Email Client, with new IM capabilities.

Nokia Messaging now offers a desktop-like IM experience on your Nokia device. You can stay in contact with your friends across multiple communities, easily switch between and save conversations and login invisibly. IM is available today for the E75 – the first device bundled with a lifetime subscription to the Nokia Messaging service. We will be adding support for more devices and communities soon, please continue to follow BetaLabs for updates.
Nokia Messaging Key IM Features
- Chat with your friends on the Yahoo!® Messenger and Ovi communities
- Quickly navigate through multiple conversations across different communities
- Background notifications of new IMs for true multitasking on your phone
- Familiar and integrated community experience – Yahoo-specific emoticons, graphics, and sounds
- Rapidly set status and availability, and login invisibly – choose who you want to talk to
- See your Ovi friends’ avatars and set your own
- Save conversations to remember your chat sessions
You can download the update for your Nokia E75 from the Nokia Messaging IM Page on BetaLabs.
I tried it out on my E75 and its pretty okay. Unfortunately I dont really use Yahoo or Ovi for IM much (at all) but they have said they’re going to be adding more communities and more devices soon. So here’s hoping!
