Nokia Photo Browser gets Major Update

Nokia’s Beta Image Viewer application, Nokia Photo Browser, just got an update.

Nokia Photo browser

The crew over at BetaLabs says this new version brings a bunch of usability & functionality improvements and features such as :

  • Better zoom image quality — needs a few seconds to load the sharper image
  • Menu — long press in the grid view to bring it up
  • Folder sorting in the grid view — accessible from the menu
  • Send function — accessible from the menu
  • Image rotation and deletion — accessible from the menu
  • Better rendering and image processing speed in general

You can download the update over at the Nokia Photo Browser Page on BetaLabs, or if you wish comment over at the Blog post on BetaLabs.

This update is definitely an improvement. I imagine the application really rocks on Touch devices like the 5800 and N97.

Can't even get the damn thing to run on my E75. Any ideas?

Weird, it works fine on mine. Are you sure you installed the S60 v3 client and not the S60 v5 one ?

The Beta Labs site says the S60 v5 release is the same as the S60 v3 for phones with accelerometers, which the E75 has. Anyway, I tried both versions and neither of them ran. Exact same problem. As soon as I click the application to start, I get a view of a blank 'silver black personal' wallpaper with nothing else showing, then a second later the screen goes black and the lights stay on. Eventually, or if I press a button, it just closes.

Are you on the latest firmware? Because a couple things went wrong when I upgraded. The gallery stopped working (not a single file will show up in it), and every half hour or so I get this network selection dialog popping up for no apparent reason. Do you have either of those problems?

    Cheers
