Hey there Darshan. Unfortunately yes, a format will erase all data on your device. You can backup your contacts and messages, etc using Nokia Pc Suite though

hi… i had some problem with n79 so i gave to nokia care.. for repair.. they told that they are going to format mobile and install.. new software…so after formating will all my default data of mobile will erase or not….pls reply

i was facing same problem but kept trying and fortunately i succedded so just keep trying but firmware 30. is not so good imfact old version is much fast and moreover i am having problem with keypad features also.

the icons hv changed…and there is a newer version of the video centre and a etter display for the download application…..
the phone has becum faster and there r lesser problems in browsing than before, no hanging anymore. the software is getting closer n closer to b perfect.
