Thanks to our Awesome Ninja Correspondent Adnan Tonse, we were able to check out the Nokia N97 launch event in Bangalore earlier today. Here’s a couple pictures and a short right up of the event.
(We’re having slight problems getting the videos up, so we’ll have that in a separate post tomorrow, along with the answers to your questions about the N97. While I wasnt at the event, this is my intepretation of what Adnan told me about the event)

The event was held at The Oberoi Hotel, Bangalore. A very posh place. As soon as we entered the lobby, we were escorted to the Hall, and handed a DVD with a couple videos and media about the Nokia N97. Nothing we havent seen before really, but nice to have.
The hall was very well setup. In a very “Nokia” manner, the stage was designed to sort of look like a giant N97 itself.
We were seated front row, and enjoying the background music before realizing Axel Meyer, the designer of the Nokia N97 was seated just next to us, talking to his Nokia team members. Egads.
Eventually the background Music faded and Axel came on Stage.
The man knows how to keep a crowd interested lol. After an introduction to the Nokia N97, and himself, we were shown a brief video of the Nokia N97 Designer Story.
After that, Axel opened the floor for Questions. He actually took the mic around and answered everyone’s questions one on one. Very cool of him.
One on one with the crowd :
After all of this, the crowd was treated you (you guessed it) the Nokia N97 to check out and play around with.
Here’s a bunch of Exclusive Pictures of the Nokia N97 in White :
And here are a couple pictures of the Nokia N97 in Black :

After that, the event came to an end. There was a massive (and delicious) buffet, and Nokia India gave us Car chargers as a gift. Totally fun event ! Major thanks to Nokia India for setting this up for us Bloggers.
We managed to get ONE video up though. Very interesting one. Check out the Nokia N97 with a “Drag to unlock” standby screen. When you unlock it, it takes you to the homescreen with the widgets, which you can swipe to clear, etc.
All in all, one great event. Very impressed by the Nokia N97, although the Keyboard seemed a bit crammed. Cant wait to get one to review soon, hopefully.
Note: You can see our full set of Pictures from the event, on our Flickr Photo Set.
We might have another Ninja correspondent in Delhi covering the event. He kinda disappeared (Hes Ninja afterall) so I'm trying to get in touch with him lol.
