Nokia E75 gets a Firmware update to v110.48.125

The Nokia E75 has received a Firmware update to version 110.48.125. Its previous firmware was v100.48.78.

Nokia E75 Firmware Update

The E75 does have UDP (User Data Preservation), so while its always a good idea to backup all your data before the firmware update, none of your programs or data should be affected with the update.

Remember you can update using the E75’s OTA (Over-The-Air) feature, or if you prefer you can download Nokia’s Software Updater application to update your E75 on your windows PC.

Nokia E75 Firmware Update

If there’s no new firmware detected for your device yet, it might be because it hasnt reached your region product code yet, or maybe your device is carrier branded. It should roll out to all product codes eventually though.

There’s no official changelog yet, but we’ll update this post as soon as we find one.

Edit: Here’s the official changelog from Nokia :

This software release includes several email improvements (setup, sync, connection reliability and readability) and automatic lookup added to Contacts. VoIP and Wi-Fi also have stability improvements. To get this software through your device, type in *#0000# on the home screen or go to Device Manager. Select Options > Check for updates and follow the on-screen prompts. Additionally this software release is available through the Nokia Software Updater.

So far I’ve noticed that Menu transitions are a lot faster (Transitions between menus, transition from portrait to landscape, etc). I cant notice any new “features” as such but no doubt this update fixes a couple bugs under the hood.

Have you updated your E75 yet ? Notice anything new ? Do let us know in the comments y’all.

Update: Whoops. Forgot to mention that this was on an APAC Region Nokia E75. Also, apparently the Tapping and Turning controls have been removed in this firmware.

Whoops. Forgot to mention that this was done OTA for an APAC (India) region E75. No doubt it'll be hitting other regions soon.

@atmasphere mentioned he is waiting for the WWDC keynote to end so he can update his E75. I guess that means it's in NAM, as well. I'll find out when I get home tonight.

    I hate these software updates!

Not the improvements they bring but the unbelievably unreliable process, especially with PC Suite.

I just updated my E75, with the latest PC Suite, latest version of the Software Updater etc. Here's how it went:

    Phone plug-in, ok
    System: "update to E75 available"
    Me: nice, click
Me, wondering: Info on actually what the update does: nowhere as always. Well let's go anyway
System: You need to update the updater
Me: ok.... done, let's update the phone now, click
System: Warning, warning, warning, warning, "take back-up" and continue along as instructed. Afterwards you can restore your data from your data from the back-up.
Me: Should I believe this promise this time, hmmm? Last 5-6 times I've updated my phone's (be it 9300, 9300i, E90, E50 and now E75) firmware something has always been lost, despite my cunning efforts to double back-up e.g Adress Book sync with Outlook or making a copy or image of the phones memory to a hard drive and so on. Well let's hope the back-up works this time, without losing too much or anything useful - it certainly takes long enough, so it must be backing-up loads and loads of my data... Click.
    System: Working working working.... "Congratulations..."
Me: Fire-up the phone etc. etc., restore the most recent back-up
    System: Working Working Working, Done.
Me: Shivering - has it worked... First impression: Nice, the screen switches from vertical to horizontal quiker and without showing the drawing of individual layers and parts of the page. Calendar: Ok, Addressbook: Ok, MfE: as it was for work e-mail, but where the hell are my personal mailboxes? And what the hell did the back up do with all of my SMS's - there are none received!?!?!?!?
Me: WTF, ok, maybe restore didn't work - so retry, but no cigar.
Me: Where the **** can I give feedback to the manufacturer??? How do I get my data back? Well I guess that I don't...

This time I was lucky not to lose more, last update abbolished my memorycard (this time I hermetically removed it), I had recently stored my photos and video clips and I had also a recent outlook sync, but I couldn't Imagine that that the bug would smilingly eat my text messages for lunch...

    What did I do wrong?
Is this common or does this happen only to me?

    Regards,
    SLA

Egads. That's never happened to me personally, but that really sucks. The PC Suite Software update method's always been a headache. Luckily I updated via OTA.

After the upgrade the mail for exchange stopped working... this is an e-series not an n-series without email its worthless. Nokia should test better before release a new firmware

    hello
i have updated my E75 to this new version, yes noticed the flip and tap has been removed.

but, when using the GPS digital compass, after setting destination , you get the red dot and the direction to travel in, as well as your current speed and time to destination,, BUT, THE DISTANCE TO STATION which comes in the centre of the compass is not there. so , the use of the compass and destination is useless. also the compass is very crudely drawn as compared to the N95 or N97

is anyone having the same problem
please do post my phone is only a month old
