Photobucket launches mobile application for Symbian

Before there was Ovi Share and Flickr, I used to use PhotoBucket.com for all my Image uploading needs. I havent stopped by there in a while now, but along came news that they announced the availability of a free Nokia-compatible Photobucket mobile photo application, earlier today.

Unfortunately (or Fortunately, depending on where you live) you can only download the app from the Ovi Store.

Here’s a couple of its features. The application enables users to:

•    Create a Photobucket account
•    Log into Photobucket to access personal albums
•    Browse and view the billions of photos on Photobucket
•    Upload images
•    Delete photos
•    View and edit photo titles and descriptions

Photobucket on Nokia

Alex Welch, President of Photobucket, had this to say :

Nokia is an outstanding brand known around the world and we are thrilled to be working with them to give their customers yet another way to access and interact with their favorite photos from their Nokia device. Over the past year, Photobucket has been committed to building the most comprehensive mobile service offerings in the US and this Nokia-compatible application empowers Photobucket users worldwide to share photos taken on Nokia devices that had previously been trapped on their handsets.

To get the Free Photobucket Application, you’ll have to log into the Ovi store, and then search for “Photobucket” to download the application.

I really have to get used to downloading apps only from the Ovi Store. This method kinda sucks for people in the Middle East though, because they still dont have access to the Ovi Store, hence wont be able to download this app. (Unless they manage to install the Ovi Store Client’s sis installation file like I did).
