Ovi Store : Download the Client

The Ovi Store has been launched and in business for a while now. Some people have been lucky enough to get the Ovi Store Client installed on their Devices, but some have had to do with using Store.Ovi.com on their device browser.

Ovi Store Client

Well not anymore ! People around the Intertubes have been able to get the .sisx Installable file for the Ovi Store Client.

- If you have a Symbian S60 V3 Feature Pack 1 Device (like the N95 variants, N82, E71, etc) you can download the Ovi Store Client from here, thanks to Micky over at NokiaUsers.net.

I installed this on my N82 and I’ve been able to use the Store (finally, even though Nokia’s blocked the Ovi Store here in the Middle East). So it definitely works.

Ovi Store Client

- If you have a Symbian S60 V5 Touch Device (like the Nokia 5800, N97) you can download the Ovi Store Client from here, thanks to Vaibhav over at TheSymbianBlog.

So far noone’s been able to get the .sis file for the S60 V3 Fp2 Client yet (for devices like the E75, N96, N85, etc). We’ll update this post as soon as we do find one.

- AllAboutSymbian says that for some devices you’ll see a link to download the client, when you visit Store.Ovi.com on your device. So that’s another alternative.

Have you been able to install the Ovi Store Client yet ? What are your impressions of it so far ? I’m just checking it out right now and I gotta say, it’s pretty aite. Could have used a beter way to show off their catergories though.

it's a good site to downloding all feature in computer, mobile.it' great

I'm using an E75 and was able to install the store client the first time i was visiting the store. but then i made a firmware update and since then i cannot install any store client. i don't even get a install link. it's really sad when you see how much functionality the device loses with a firmware upgrade. and you cannot downgrade. same happens with the change to ovi maps. you are no longer able to listen to music and navigate. there will be no command about navigation. sometimes i think nokia sucks!

I get this error when i try to download...ForbiddenYour client does not have permission to get URL /files/OviStore_31-installer.SISx from this server.BTW.. link of S60 v3 FP2 Devices (unverified) - got if from the same forum... havent checked it outhttp://rapidshare.com/files/239695396/ovistore.sis

Agree 100%, We need to have choice.@CJ, I noted strange thing, when I tried going to store.ovi.com via my E71, i was given link to download OVI Store client which i did. Then when I used my N82 i opened up same store.ovi.com, signed in,I didnt see that link. So I checked "my stuff" there it was showing OVI store. But when I clicked on it, it showed item no longer available. I guess its also device specific.

Hey Apurv. I completely agree with you. I hate that most Nokia apps install directly to phone memory, when we barely have any phone memory to start with. The Ovi Store client eats up quite a bit of phone memory the more you use it though, so be very careful.

Why there is no option to install it on memory card? Why nokia just wants to install its apps in our ever decreasing phone memory? Same with nokia messaging. This is really disappointing...
