The Sony Ericsson Idou now renamed to “Satio”

Earlier today, Sony Ericsson announced that the Symbian S60 V5 powered “Idou” device it showed off at Mobile World Congress 2009, now has an official new name. Say Hello to the Sony Ericsson Satio.

The Satio should be available later this year, around October 2009. Back in Febuary when Sony Ericsson first showed off the device, not much was known about the 12 Megapixel Xenon Flash equipped behemoth with its 3.5″ touchscreen. This time, they’ve published the whole list of device specs, in addition to the new name.

Egads. This is everything I wanted in a device, and a bit more too. I hope I can get my hands on one. The fact that it doesnt have a standard 3.5mm Audio jack seems like a bit of a downer though. But atleast they’ve decided to go with MicroSD instead of their usual propriety Memory Stick brands.

I’m glad atleast Sony Ericsson knows that people want a Xenon Flash in their “imaging” devices, unlike Nokia and their silly Dual LED flash fetish lately.

Cool smartphone, isn't it? If its built-in loudspeakers are good enough, it won't need any 3.5 mm headset jack. I prefer "open" music, instead of headset music.
