Over on Engadget.com, they’ve managed to find a whole bunch of new Nokia devices (codenamed Grouper, Mako, Snapper, and Thresher) that’s supposed to be coming to AT&T in the US exclusively. One of these devices is a Symbian S60 v3.2 device that’s unlike anything we’ve seen Nokia produce before.
The Nokia Mako :
The Mako runs on S60 3.2 (just like the E71x), has a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard, dual-band HSDPA, 2.4-inch QVGA display, AGPS, 2 megapixel camera, Video Share, and 128MB of internal storage with microSD expansion. But it’s got a 2.5mm audio jack which might be deal breaker for some. Apparently this device was scheduled for release in June 5th (but the date is pushed back now). How about that, eh ?
This device really does look kind of interesting, mostly because (a) we’ve never heard of it before and (b) it looks nothing like any other Nokia device.
Will we actually see this produced ? Or will it just be branded a rumour and disappear just as fast as it popped up ? We’ll just have to wait and see.
What do you guys think of the Mako ? Should it be released outside of the US too ?
