Good news for Nokia S60 users in Spain. Looks like y’all will be able to use the Nokia Messaging push email service !

Right from the press release :

Madrid, Spain – Nokia Spain and Telefónica Spain have signed an agreement to introduce the Nokia Messaging push email service in Spain. Telefónica Spain will be among the first operators to bring this solution to market, continuing its investment in the development of mobile internet in Spain.

Nokia Messaging Spain

Nokia Messaging simplifies the mobilization of email. This new solution allows the easy access and use of multiple email accounts, by simplifying the process and removing complex steps. Push technology ensures the quick delivery of emails directly to the mobile phone. Nokia Messaging is compatible with thousands of Internet service providers (ISPs), like with terra.es and telefonica.net. The service allows users to set-up, access and use personal inboxes in a quick and easy way. The service will be provided via a flat and affordable rate for Telefonica customers.

“With this service, Nokia and Telefónica aim to respond to the growing consumer demand to be able to access their email accounts directly on the Nokia device whenever they want, wherever they want. In Spain, there are more than 15 million active personal email accounts, so there is tremendous potential for the number of users that can leverage this service. The objective is to bring mobile email to the masses and make it accessible to the largest number of users possible”, said Marieta del Rivero, General Manager, Nokia Iberia.

Nokia Messaging allows users to choose from a wide range of Nokia S60 devices. Telefónica customers can continue to use their preferred Nokia device and launch Nokia Messaging through an easy set-up process. In addition to ISP email accounts, Nokia Messaging also mobilizes the world’s most popular webmail accounts, including Yahoo! Mail, Windows Live Hotmail and Gmail. With Nokia Messaging, consumers can access up to 10 personal email accounts on one device.
