Nokia UK , with the help of a bunch of UK Dancers, have created the “Nokia Tube Dance” on a touch activated, light up floor, just to celebrate the UK launch of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic (which was codenamed “The Tube).
“The Tube Dance is a fun, urban movement that is set to be the latest dance craze. So put on your dancing shoes and do your own rendition in the lounge, the laundrette or even the loo!”
“Nokia Tube is calling the UK back to the dance floor after teaming up with street dance ace George Sampson, Keith Lemon (AKA comedian Leigh Francis) and breakthrough artist VV Brown create the Nokia Tube Dance.”
Learn the Dance :
Easy tiger, before you pop your collar and go strutting down the street with your freshly pressed ‘Fame’ outfit on, you better check out the moves!
Or just watch the “How to do the Nokia Tube Dance” video below :
While the Tube Dance is one thing, they’re taking it on tour through five locations in the UK, including venues in London, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Cardiff :
“Nokia Tube also brings to the UK its first ever touch-activated light up dance floor in a series of Nokia Tube Nights, which will see the dance floor touring nightclubs in London, Newcastle, Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds throughout January and February.”
There’s even a student dance contest, where students can upload their own versions of the Tube Dance to the Tube Dance Facebook Page, for the world to judge, and win a Nokia funded party. Nokia says Celebrity judges will be appointed that they are looking for the most craziest outfits, bizarre locations, the most people dancing at once, or the funniest video.

Wow. This might either be the most brilliant marketing Nokia has ever done, or silliest. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
