I could go on and on about how gorgeous the Nokia N85‘s OLED screen is compared to normal cellphone screens these days, but I took a few pictures to let them do the talking for me.
Here’s a couple pictures of the N85′s OLED screen vs the N96′s screen.
Both phones were set to maximum backlight brightness for this comparison. Both phones are displaying exactly the same image which was bluetooth’ed to both phones.
Exhibit A :
Notice the colors of the petals and corolla of the flower in this image. You’ll see that on the N85′s screen produces a more true to life image, with way better colors and way better saturation.
Exhibit B :
Check out the colors of the sky and clouds in this image.
Its very obvious that the N85′s image looks way more natural and the colors are almost perfect, while the N96 with its standard display looks washed out in comparison.
Exhibit C :
The N85′s image looks like a completely different colored flower in this one, producing a more true-to-life pink color while the N96′s screen displays a purple tinge to it.
Exhibit D :
Notice the colors of the sails in first ship in this image.
And finally,
Exhibit E :
I actually really love this image on the N85. The cat looks so much more lifelike. You’ll notice the colors are way better, the reds are a deeper shade and vibrant on the N85.
It should be pretty obvious by now, how much better the N85‘s OLED screen is compared to normal cellphone screens, atleast in color reproduction and contrast and saturation. It also uses a lot less power than standard screens. We’ll go more into detail on that, in the upcoming N85 Review here on ZomgitsCj.
Kinda makes you think though, about how completely wrong the color reproduction must be on most non-OLED-screen phones are these days.
