We dont normally cover S40 devices here on ZomgitsCj, but since this concerns OVI, we figured we should mention it.
Mail on Ovi is now globally (except in Sudan, North Korea, Iran, Cuba and Syria) available for S40 devices (only). Incase you were wondering there is no webmail access from a PC browser during this phase of the trial.
To sign up for the service, you’ll need to have a compatible S40 device which already has the Mail on Ovi application pre-installed, since there’s no download for it.
Here’s what the team from Betalabs had to say :
Consumers can sign up for an email account and access email from their S40 devices. We believe Nokia consumers around the world will love the simplicity of this service. This is truely “Email from Everyone”. We especially loved what The Economist had to say about our Mail on Ovi Service.
What has changed in this release?
(A) Account signup was made simpler based on a lot of invaluable comments and feedback from beta users
(B) Availalble globally* now
We can’t wait to launch our Webmail release in February, 2009. As always, we look forward to hearing back from you and value all your comments and input.
I guess this will come in useful to people whom already have a compatible S40 device. Have fun emailing y’all !
