Nokia’s new Nokia Messaging application (which replaces the Nokia Email Application) has just gone live. You can sign up and download it from the Nokia Messaging website. Unfortunately, you still need to wait for an sms to be sent to your device, to download the application.
What is Nokia Messaging?
Nokia Messaging makes mobile email easy and mobilizes consumer email across a range of Nokia Series 60 devices. Nokia Messaging supports multiple mailboxes, automatic email delivery, IMAP folders, and a wide range of email service providers and Nokia phones. Nokia Messaging enables users to quickly set up, access, and use their email on their Nokia devices through a service that is optimized for mobile email.
What’s new in this release of Nokia Messaging?
* Improved application performance, including rapid access to the Inbox
* Support for up to 10 email addresses
* Better support for subfolders in IMAP email accounts
* Flagged messages automatically become starred messages in Gmail
* Improved battery life
* More intuitive inbox navigation

* Mail sent from any email address on your phone now syncs to the server

So far, it looks pretty much the same as Nokia email imho. And there’s no IM support yet ?
Still, Kudos on getting the application out. I have a lot of friends who are going to be very interested in Nokia Messaging.
