Diwali, aka “The festival of Lights“, is a huge Festival here in India. In lamen terms, its basically like the Indian Version of Christmas, but with more firecrackers hehe. Although its a festival of the Hindi religion, the aesthetic aspect of it is enjoyed by most Indians regardless of faith.
This was also my Nokia N82‘s first Diwali. Last year, I had my N95 at this time, and couldnt really take any pictures of the sights and sounds of Diwali or the firecrackers, at night because of its poor single LED flash. But since I had an N82 this time, I was making use of that Xenon Flash goodness.
I took a whole bunch of pictures yesterady. Since there are way too many to post in one blog post I’ve embedded a slideshow below from my Share on Ovi Diwali Channel :
And a couple videos too :
And to add to the fun, I NokiaviNe‘d it too!
To view my “Diwali viNe“, you can either go over to the NokiaviNe website (for a better experience), select “view viNes“, then “Cj“, select “View viNes” again, and scroll over to India…. OR just view the N-series Maps+Photography Widget below (Right Click and select “Play” if you have Flash and Java support but still dont see it) :
