N-gage‘s potential in India, has always been a topic of interest for me. The N-gage QD was a suprise hit in India when it launched. And now N-gage v2.0 seems to be doing pretty well too, as can be seen by the community run “N-gage Gamer’s Gang“.
N-Gage is a mobile gaming brand owned by Nokia. It has a small but dedicated following around the world, which has seen this brand move from hardware, to a software based gaming platform. Carrying that thought forward, N-gage Gamer’s Gang is trying to establish a community of gaming enthusiasts who enjoy playing and sharing N-gage games within their own communities.
The idea is to create a touch point for N-Gage, where gamers can get latest updates, insights, communicate with a like minded community. Hence N-gage Gamer’s Gang is a community for N-Gage, which can be joined by gaming freaks and can be cultivated as a platform for gamers to share their experience with N-Gage, announce their scores, compete with gamers and get to know the latest on N-Gage.
You can join the “gang” over on their page on Facebook, or on Google‘s Orkut. While N-gage Gamers Gang (NGG) does focus mainly on India, the community is open to all. This being said, some competitions and giveaways might only be open to Indian residents.
Right now N-gage India is having a free game code giveaway (one game for each person) that ends October 31st, 2008. N-Gage users can share their player ids, password and phone number on N-gage India. After doing this, within 24 hours, they will receive one free code per player Id.
