Michael Hell over at Symbian-Freak was talking today about how badly his N82 got scratched up after 3 and a half months of use, all that time taking perfect care of it.
I’m in pretty much the same situation here too. My N82 (which I absolutely love) is about 5 months old now and has these hairline scratches, some very large and noticable, all over the place. Everyone who knows me, knows how well I treat my phones. Mostly because it takes me almost forever to save up and buy a new one. My N95 didnt have a single scratch on it after almost a year of use. Same for most of my older phones.
Is Nokia‘s build quality really getting worse ? I see a device like the E71 which has amazing build quality and think “Hell No“. But then I take a look at the N-series side and see the N95 slider problems, the N76‘s chrome peeling off problems (which also plagued the side buttons on the N95) and now the N82 with its easily scratchable exterior.
Nokia, I’m afraid you’re going to have to step it up a bit.
