Nseriesindia.com is a joke

Too harsh a heading ? Well they deserve it this time.

Today a random friend of mine asked me why the Nokia N78 isnt available in India yet. I remember seeing the N78 in the Nokia showroom in Udupi more than a month ago so I was convinced he was wrong. On enquiry as to what made him think this, he pointed me to the Nseriesindia.com site and said “But it isnt listed there“.

The N-series India site (Nseriesindia.com) is a complete mess. A joke, if you will. Its so un-updated that you’d think it was completely forgotten by the crew who were in charge of it.

The casual user would definitely refer to the N-series site as their source of info for a device. But if the N-series site doesnt list it, what are they going to do ?

For example, one of the two devices prominently featured on the site, is the Nokia N70 Music Edition :

This phone is more than a year old. Yet here it is , on the main page of Nseriesindia.com .

The other device featured on the front page is the Nokia N73 :

Another old device. Not even the Music edition N73. Other sites are talking about the N96 and featuring new articles about the N78 or about how amazing the N82 is , or the new firmware on the N81. Yet on the Nseriesindia site they’re still stuck in late 2006 with the N70 Music Edition and the N73.

Then , if you navigate over to the “Products” tab , you’ll get this :

Wow atleast they have the Classic N95 listed there. But there’s no N95 8gb edition , no N82 silver (or black edition for that matter), No N81, No N78 and no mention of the upcoming N96 either. Heck the old N800 is listed ,even though the N810 came out ages ago with an N810 WiMax edition released recently.

Honestly , if the site isnt updated or they dont care about it anymore, shut it down and remove the link to NseriesIndia.com from the “Useful links” section in the Main Nokia.co.in Homepage :

And right under the logo that says “India’s most trusted Brand” too. Eeesh.
