Increase your N82′s screen brightness

One of the few problems i have with the N82 is that the screen just isnt anywhere as bright as my ol’ Nokia N95 .

Thanks to P@sco for bringing it to our attention that there is now a way to increase the brightness of your Nokia N82.The picture above shows the N82 next to the N95 with equal brightness, something that wasnt possible before.

This is a huge accomplishment for members of the Symbian community. To find a way to hack this and enable us to make the N82 screen better. It’s just sad that it has to be done this way because now Nokia will have tons of customers out there with hacked phones installing whatever applications they please without any restrictions at all. Sigh. If only Nokia let us choose.

In order to be able to do this, you must first hack your phone. My N82 is fully legit right now. And since you cant change the brightness after you do this hack (you can delete the file to go back to your old brightness settings) , its not really worth it for me. Maybe Nokia will suprise us and let us choose a “brighter” brightness setting on the next firmware.

First you can watch this video which shows you the steps to take after your phone is already hacked:

Download (right click, save link as) the 102000c8c.txt file HERE, then copy it to the ‘others’ folder on your memory card first.
Please note that after performing this hack, the only way to lower the brightness settings of your N82 is to delete or move the txt/cre files in C:\Private\10202be9
